AP American History (Junior Year)

Students with a 3.5 GPA or higher are eligible to simultaneously gain high school credit and 6

        semester of college credit. Classes will be held at Holy Name.

AP European History (Sophomore or Senior Year)

-Sophomore students with a 3.7 GPA or higher are eligible to simultaneously gain high school credit and 3 semesters of college credit. Classes will be held at Holy Name.

-Senior students with a 3.0 GPA or higher are eligible to simultaneously gain high school credit and 3 semester of college credit. Classes will be held at Holy Name.

 

##The Civilizations and Citizenship : the  .5 credit that may be earned in this class does not count toward fulfilling the 3 credits required in Social Studies.  In addition to this class the student must earn an additional 3 credits in Social Studies.

-Students are required to take the AP Test in May if in the AP Class.

Special Note with Curriculum:

 

Cuyahoga Community College:

Holy Name enjoys a partnership with Cuyahoga Community College and the University Partnership Program.

 

Students in AP European History and AP American History may earn High School and College Credit simultaneously with Holy Name’s partnership with Cuyahoga Community College.

 

Criteria for the Admissions to the  CCC/ Holy Name partnership:

*Sophomore  3.7 GPA (AP European History)

  Permission of CCC/ Holy Name & (take CCC Admissions Test)

*Junior          3.5  GPA  (AP American History)

Permission of CCC/ Holy Name & (take CCC Admissions Test)

*Senior          3.0  GPA   (AP European History)

Permission of CCC/ Holy Name & (take CCC Admissions Test)

 

Students could receive 6 semester hours college credit from AP American History

Students could receive 3 semester hours college credit from AP 

European History.

Please note we may not get public funding for tuition. This is a year to year situation. You may have to pay the CCC Tuition. You would know about your funding status the summer before you take the class.
