After 9 Year Drought, Green Wave Rises Up to Overwhelm Bruins
Last Friday night, the Holy Name varsity football squad did what they hadn’t done in nine years. They beat their number one rival, the Padua Bruins, 14-7, and punctuated the victory by dousing second year Coach Pinzone with a Green Wave of Gatorade. With the win, Holy Name endeavors to usher in a new era for Green Wave football marked by increased competitiveness and a few more notches in the win column. Congratulations to all the players and coaches who worked so hard to turn things around, and don’t forget to show your support for the team by attending our F.A.N. (Forever a Namer) event before this week’s game against St. Peter Chanel (see below). The tide is rising, so break out the face paint and pom poms, and roll on Green Wave!
