HN Starts 2012 Season Off Slow
Holy Name Football is looking for it’s first win in 2012. The problem is, it is after three weeks into the season. Sitting at 0-3, the Green Wave have struggled to amass anything that looks like a winning season or pro- gram from 2011.
Week #2 seemed a bit better as Holy Name was leading Huron out by the lake 14-9 at halftime but could not hold on as Huron won 38-21.
Perhaps the worst came Week #3 as the Green Wave lost a close game to (then 0-2) Valley Forge 10-7. Although the defense played fairly well, tremendous penalties, lack of discipline and blown assignments appeared to be the theme for the night as Holy Name looked out of focus.
Week #4 will be no easier as the Green Wave travel to Bedford Bearcat Stadium to face a very talented 1-2 Benedictine team. Good Luck to the Green Wave Football Team!!!
This season is certainly not what we expected to happen going into the 2012 season and com- ing off a very successful 2011 NCL conference white division title. There is no beating around the bush. We simply are not getting the job done. Yes, we have had several injuries to major players on our team, however this is no excuse for our actions and lack of discipline on the field and sideline. Things will cer- tainly be changing this week regarding how we practice, how we handle pre-game, and our actions on the sideline and on the field. We need to improve our discipline, focus and maturity to be the class act team that I and everyone else expects
Holy Name Football to be. Therefore, several changes will be made immediately. The final responsibility of course, does and should fall on me, the head coach. Thus, I will be handling all of our issues in hopes that we display ourselves as a much more disciplined, mature ball club and perhaps improve our season going forward. We will see starting this Saturday against Benedictine.
GO GREEN WAVE!!!
