Fall is here and that means so is marching band season. Over the years, Holy Name’s marching band has dwindled in size. This year is a different story.
The Holy Name marching band has grown to forty-eight members. Twelve of those members are freshmen.
Freshman Theresa Lincheck says, “I love marching band because it’s a great experience the band has.”
Most of the officers of the band have been elected for a second term. They are senior Jordan Blazak (Vice President), senior Laura Bednar (Librarian), and senior Sarah Pruett (Quartermaster).
They newly elected officers for the band are senior Becca Ciarrone (President) and sophomore Katie Suvak (Assistant Quartermaster).
This year the band is starting a new tradition. Every four years, the Holy Name marching band will march at Walt Disney World in Florida.
When asked about his thoughts on the trip, Mr. Crane states, “I’m very excited to initiate the tradition of exposing students to new and exciting musical performance opportunities.”
Band president Becca Ciarrone says, “I’m very excited about this year’s Disney’s trip. It’s such a great way to end senior year with a bang!”
The band and choir will be performing in Disney World over Spring Break this year.
