Holy Name easily handled Trinity, 41-6, in Week 9 at Bedford Bearcat Stadium in football action.

The Green Wave (4-5) has now won two straight and four of their last five heading into their regular season finale with Villa Angela-St. Joseph. Trinity falls to 3-6.

After Trinity dented the scoreboard first, Holy Name rattled off 41 unanswered points. The Green Wave scored 21 points in the second quarter to jump out to a 35-6 halftime lead.

Holy Name’s Tre Smith finished with four touchdowns on the night. He scored on a 41-yard pass from quarterback Mike Messina for the team’s first score and also tallied scoring runs of 13, 15 and 5 yards. Messina also threw a 41-yard score to Jovan Smiley.

Andre Husain’s 3-yard run capped off the scoring in the third quarter.

Holy Name ends the season Oct. 27 at Villa Angela-St. Joseph. The Vikings (4-5) have lost five in a row after last week’s 47-0 loss to Cleveland Central Catholic.
