Green Wave Football finished at the .500 mark was Holy Name under third-year coach Mark Pinzone. Despite losing the first four games, the Green Wave fought back to win five of their final six, including victories against Padua, St. Peter Chanel, Cleveland Central Catholic, Trinity and Villa Angela-St. Joseph.
Senior running back and defensive end Tre Smith earned first-team all-North Coast League White Division honors, running for 1,011 yards and 16 touchdowns on 161 carries. His 188-yard, four touchdown effort in the final game of the regular season helped Holy Name to a 48-14 over Villa Angela-St. Joseph.
Defensively, Smith totaled 57 tackles and had a team-high eight sacks.
Senior running back and defensive back Jovan Smiley was voted first-team all NCL. Smiley grabbed a team-high 30 catches for 588 yards and eight touchdowns and added 31 tackles, three forced fumbles and a pair of interceptions on the defensive end.
Senior offensive lineman and linebacker Mike Setta was a team captain for the Green Wave. Setta, first-team All-NCL White Division for the second straight season, graded out at a 0.94 blocking efficiency and led the team in pancake blocks. Setta also added 51 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery on defense.
