PARMA HEIGHTS — News of Pope Benedict XVI’s resignation brought an interesting response from Kevin Ontko, a teacher and campus minister at Holy Name High School.
“We were all surprised by the announcement of Pope Benedict XVI’s resignation, effective Feb. 28,” Ontko said.

“Theology classes were able to read Vatican statements about Pope Benedict XVI’s resignation on smart boards,” Ontko said. “Our students asked good questions about the legacy of his papacy, the process of determining our next Pope and the papacy in general.

“When something hasn’t happened in almost six hundred years, it really grabs the attention of students and history teachers,” Ontko said.
