PARMA, Ohio – Holy Name has hired Dan Wondolowski as its new football coach.

Wondolowski, 34, graduated from St. Peter Chanel and played cornerback on two Division III national championship teams at Mount Union.Wondolowski_Dan

After graduation, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Holy Name and six seasons as an assistant at Chanel. He was also an assistant wrestling coach at both high schools.

“They gave me my first chance,” said Wondolowski, who lives in Parma and works for Huntington Bank. “You can win at Holy Name. It’s a family school with great support from the alumni down with great kids.”

He has been an assistant coach at Division II Notre Dame College in South Euclid the past four seasons, working with the defense. He was also the junior varsity coach.

He replaces three-season coach Mark Pinzone, who resigned last month to take the head coaching position at Buckeye.

Holy Name was 5-5, 4-1 last season in the North Coast League White Division.
