Before Holy Name High School students take their final exams this week, they had important visitors to meet and spread Christmas cheer to: the Holy Name Elementary School students! On Monday, Dec. 15, more than 200 HNES students took buses to Parma Heights for a day-long Christmas celebration. Mr. Ian Crane captured the students’ attention immediately, as the day began with a Christmas Concert Performance by the HN Music Department, including the choir, band and string ensemble.
From there, grades 6-8 participated in a character-building activity led by Campus Ministry and Mrs. Mary Wallace ’85, grades 3-5 created beautiful ornaments with the help of art students and Mrs. Beth Ryan, and grades K-2 watched a special Christmas pageant with drama students and Mr. Mike Mazur ’86.
The students also enjoyed a pizza lunch before one of the biggest highlights of the day: Santa and presents! Through the generosity of our HN students and faculty, each Holy Name Elementary student received a Christmas gift. The Memorial Gym was filled with smiles, laughter and lots of energy as students K-8 opened their gifts and were eager to begin playing with them immediately. Mr. Lorenzo Jones, Principal at HNES, closed the day by thanking everyone and wished all a Merry Christmas. With the help of Santa, our special visitors went back home to Harvard and Broadway, and we can’t wait to see them again soon!
