Featured: #WeGiveCatholic Day Raises $4,805 for Holy Name

Thanks to the generosity of parents, alumni and friends, Holy Name raised $4,805 on #WeGiveCatholic Day, which took place on Tuesday, November 29.

All of Holy Name’s donations will go into the Holy Name Fund, with the gifts going toward student financial aid, technology improvements, co-curricular activity materials and faith-based programming.

Holy Name has participated in this national day of giving before, this was the first time the Diocese of Cleveland’s Catholic Community Foundation promoted participating in a day of online Catholic giving in Northeast Ohio. The Foundation publicized the day throughout the region, helping all participating Catholics schools, churches and non-profits raise $414,199 in just a 24-hour period.

If you were not able to give on #WeGiveCatholic Day, there is still plenty of time to support the Holy Name Fund. Gifts can be made in the following ways:

1. Going online to www.holynamehs.com/donate-to-hn

2. Sending in a check, made payable to Holy Name High School, to the Holy Name High School Advancement Office, 6000 Queens Highway, Parma Heights, OH 44130

3. Providing a matching gift form from your employer

Additionally, alumnus Raymond E. Smiley ’44 is once again serving in a leadership role by offering a $35,000 matching challenge grant. This means that when you support the Holy Name Fund, a contribution of equal value is received and effectively doubles the impact of your gift.

As 2016 comes to an end, please consider making a special gift to the Holy Name Fund. It is our greatest source of unrestricted income that provides an immediate impact on our most precious assets – our students!

If you have any questions about the Holy Name Fund, please call Michele Fusco Scoccola at 440-886-0300 ext. 104.

Advancement: Gala Auction Save the Date

Plans are under way for this year’s Gala Auction, taking place Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Holy Name’s Main Gymnasium.

This year’s theme is Rising Tide Gala Auction: Cocktails on the Green. The event, which begins at 6 p.m., costs $100 per person.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.holynamehs.com/auction2017. Corporate sponsorships are also available.

Current Holy Name parents who would like to give a gift donation to the Gala Auction are reminded they can participate in the $1,500 tuition credit raffle. To be included in the raffle, donate $100 cash, a $100 gift card or a silent auction item valued at $100. Your name will be entered for each $100 donation.

If your donation is received by this Saturday, December 10, your name will be entered twice for every $100 donation turned in for the Gala Auction! Gifts can be dropped off in the school’s Main Foyer (near Team Shop) between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 10.

The winner will be selected at the Gala Auction on March 25.

If you have any questions about the Gala Auction, please contact Colleen Corrigan Day ’88 at 440-886-0300 ext. 136 or at cday@holynamehs.com.
