Juniors: PSAT; Freshmen/Sophomores: Pre-ACT; Seniors: Retreat

October 16, 2019

As we begin a new week, please remember that this Wednesday, October 16 with be a testing day for our freshmen, sophomores and juniors.

Juniors will be taking the PSAT, with every junior student having already received a PSAT Test Prep Book to utilize, along with review taking place during select classes. Freshmen and sophomores will be taking the Pre-ACT. Here are some reminders to make this a successful testing day for all students:

Sleep well on Tuesday night, and eat a nutritious breakfast Wednesday morning!

Normal dress code is in place for this day; no dress down outfits are permitted.

Students should report to their assigned testing rooms by 7:45 a.m. They will be told their room assignments ahead of time. All testing will begin at 7:50 a.m.

Bring a calculator and a #2 pencil to use. No mechanical pencils, please.

If a student needs something from his/her locker, go before the test is administered, not afterward. This rule is in place to minimize the noise and distractions for those students still testing at dismissal time.

Freshmen and sophomores will be dismissed around 11:15 a.m., while juniors will be let out between 11:30 and 11:45 a.m. All students, regardless of grade level, should leave the building immediately.

If students need to wait for rides, they will be directed to the cafeteria. Supervision will be provided until 12 p.m. only that day; students must leave the building after 12 p.m. due to a teacher in-service the rest of the day.

Bus transportation will be available in the morning, but will NOT be available in the afternoon for those students who normally take a bus home after school.

Normal classes will resume on Thursday, October 17.
The seniors will be at a mandatory senior retreat at St. Colette in Brunswick. They must arrive by 8:30 a.m., and are allowed to wear dress down clothing to the retreat. All seniors will be dismissed from St. Colette around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Principal for Academics, Mrs. Karen Carter, at 440-886-0300 ext. 101, or at kcarter@holynamehs.com.
