The 2019 Holy Name Music Scholarship Audition Dates have now been announced. They are:
Monday, December 16th from 3 to 6 p.m.
Tuesday, December 17th from 3 to 6 p.m.
Wednesday, December 18th from 3 to 6 p.m.
Thursday, December 19th from 3 to 6 p.m.
Please sign-up for an audition slot by going to this online registration form here. The sign-up form is also accessible by scrolling down to the embedded form below.
Each audition slot is scheduled for 15 minutes.
Parents, you may park in the side lot either off Layor Drive, or, the side lot off of Queens Highway.
Students, when you enter the school, please enter through the Main Doors (off of the circle, directly underneath sign that says Holy Name High School). A student will greet you and instruct you on where to go from there. Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled audition so you are checked in and ready to perform at your assigned time.
If you are auditioning for an instrumental music scholarship, please prepare a piece that best demonstrates your ability. Bb scale required, Eb scale is recommended. Sight reading will be a small part of the audition.
If you are auditioning for a vocal music scholarship, please prepare a piece that best demonstrates your ability. You need to be able to match pitch, sight read, and sing a simple melody (such as Happy Birthday) in a given key after hearing a starting pitch. Knowledge of solfegé (Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, etc) is recommended.

If a student is unable to audition on one of the above-mentioned dates, please reach out to Mr. Campus. He can set-up a separate time, after Holy Name’s Christmas Break, for a student to audition if needed.
