2023 Holy Name Summer Camps

Art Workshops
Monday, June 5 thru Thursday, June 8

5th to 8th Graders (as of August 2023)

Photography Workshop: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Digital Illustration Workshop: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Cost per Camper (if attending both morning and afternoon session): $200

Students can choose to participate in one or both of the sessions! Those who register for both the morning and afternoon will receive a discount and will pay a total of $200 for both sessions. Students may stay at Holy Name between sessions.

Photography Workshop: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of photography by teaching composition, exposure compensation, focal points, and how to work with light and shadow. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about Polaroid photography and cyanotypes.

Digital Illustration Workshop: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
This workshop focuses on the fundamentals of digital art by teaching the basics of working in a digital environment. Students will learn to navigate Adobe Fresco and Capture on the iPad, learn how to create custom shapes and brushes to speed up workflow, and learn the basics of apple pencil as a drawing tool. Students will have the opportunity to create several digital illustrations to practice their new skills. Illustrations will be turned into custom stickers!

Engineering Camp
Monday, June 12 thru Wednesday, June 14

6th - 8th Grade (as of August 2023): 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Students will learn how to use computer code to make the Sphero Ball Robots navigate a maze, while having the opportunity to build their own unique course for the robot. Students will also complete puzzles and learn to think like an engineer!

Creative Writing Workshop

Summer is the 'write' time for young creatives to nurture their passion for the written word! Workshop attendees can expect to grow their vocabulary banks, determine ways to be clever, but always clear,  and receive constructive writing feedback from a fresh set of eyes.

Drama Workshop

Esports Camp

Hone your skills while learning from Holy Name's state and national esports champions! Esports is not just "playing games," it is about developing positive mental, physical, and social health. Learn how to communicate better, meditate, build computers, how exercise impacts gaming, gaming stretches, how the internet works, and last but not least, how to game on a high-end gaming PC! Campers will have access to the top gaming technology and modules available. The week will conclude with competitions and the chance to show off their esports knowledge.

Family Astronomy Night 
Monday, June 26 (Rain Dates - Monday, July 10 and Tuesday, August 1)

9:30 PM to 11 PM

Spend a summer evening under the stars with the Holy Name Science Department! Families will learn about the constellations and how to use a telescope. After the learning lab, they will explore the skies out on our turf field. This is a family event - the more the merrier! We are asking that one student is at least in 4th grade.

Band Camp
Thursday, August 10 and Friday, August 11

7th & 8th Grade (as of August 2023): 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Cost per Camper: $60

Join the High School Marching Band as we prepare for the 2023 Season! No marching experience is necessary; we will teach you! Instruments will include those in the brass, wind, and percussion families. Students must bring their own instrument except those playing drums.

All campers will be invited to play with the HN Marching Band at halftime of a football game. Game and date to be announced.
