Senior Events, Deadlines & Graduation Details

Senior Events Calendar

    • All seniors will take the Senior Exit Survey. This is when they will share their plans for post-graduation. 

    • Each student will get his/her picture taken. All seniors are encouraged to wear a t-shirt/sweatshirt on May 1 announcing their college/military/post-graduation program plans!

    • Presented by Parma Heights Police and Fire Departments

    • Held at 10 am for seniors; weather permitting

    • The presentation will cover distracted driving and driving under the influence scenarios.

  • Thursday, May 7, 2026:  Cap and Gown and Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation Ticket Pickup

    • Senior tuition accounts must be paid in full by April 30, 2026 before a student can receive his/her cap and gown, Baccalaureate Mass/Tribute to Mary and graduation tickets, and be permitted to attend prom and commencement.  Please reach out to Bernie Kowal, Director of Finance, at ext. 124 with questions.

    • Pickup will occur in the main office during lunch periods.

  • Friday, May 8, 2026:  Senior Awards Ceremony

    • 9 am in the main gymnasium

    • Please RSVP HERE if you are attending by May 1, 2026. This form will be used for all senior events that require an RSVP. 

    • Parents/guardians and guests should park in the faculty/staff lot off Layor Drive.  Street parking will be available for the ceremony.

  • May 11-15, 2026:  Senior Final Exams

    • The final exam schedule will be sent to all senior families in April.

    • Seniors who have an A or A+ average in a class for both the 3rd and 4th Quarter as of Wednesday, May 6 will be exempt from taking the semester exam in that respective subject. Teachers will confirm with seniors who are exempt from an exam.

    • Additionally, senior students are dismissed at the conclusion of their last exam each day. For example: If a student does not have a 4th period exam, he/she can leave after taking the 3rd period test. Seniors will be expected to leave campus at the conclusion of their exams each day.

  • Saturday, May 16, 2026:  Prom

    • Prom will be held at Encore Event Center in Strongsville from 6 pm - 10 pm.

    • Students must arrive no later than 6:30 pm and can depart starting at 9:30 pm. 

    • Formal attire is required.  Tennis shoes are permitted. 

    • Information on ticket sales will be communicated soon.  

    • All financial obligations (tuition and fees) must be met before prom tickets will be issued.

  • Monday, May 18, 2026:  No School for Seniors

  • Tuesday, May 19, 2026:  Senior Graduation Breakfast and Baccalaureate Mass Practice 

    • 8:30 am: Practice for those students directly involved in Baccalaureate Mass/Tribute to Mary

    • 9:30 am: Breakfast ready for all seniors in the cafeteria

    • 10:15 am: All seniors report to the main gym for practice.  All seniors must be present for practice. A student will not be able to participate in the Baccalaureate Mass/Tribute to Mary and/or Graduation if they do not attend practice.

    • Practice should conclude by 12:30 pm.  

    • Dress for seniors is casual but should be appropriate for our Catholic school setting.

  • Wednesday, May 20, 2026:  Baccalaureate Mass and Tribute to Mary 

    • Mass begins at 10 am in the main gymnasium. Doors open to guests at 9:30 am.

    • Parking is available on campus.  Street parking will also be available.  

    • Seniors are required to report to the auxiliary gymnasium in cap and gown by 9:15 am. 

    • Seniors should enter the school through the Physics lab doors via the back student lot.

    • For those interested, Ripcho Studio will be present in the Auxiliary Gym prior to mass (9 am) to take formal individual Senior Graduation Portraits.  This is optional for students and more information will be coming after Easter. 

    • Up to 4 guest tickets will be provided per student.  Please RSVP for mass using the form above.

  • Wednesday, May 20, 2026:  Senior Sunset

    • 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm on Cicerchi Field 

    • This event is for senior students only.  Please RSVP for senior sunset using the form above.

  • Thursday, May 21, 2026:  Graduation Practice

    • 1 pm at St. John Bosco Church  (6480 Pearl Road, Parma Heights)

    • All seniors are required to attend.

    • Dress for seniors is casual, but should be appropriate for a church setting.

    • Practice should last about 90 minutes.

  • Friday, May 22, 2026:  Graduation

    • 7 pm at St. John Bosco Church (6480 Pearl Road, Parma Heights)

    • Doors will open to guests at 6:30 pm.

    • Seniors must arrive by 6:15 pm and report to the Bell Tower.

    • Each senior will receive 6 guest tickets for the graduation ceremony.

    • The ceremony will be live streamed and a link to view the live stream will be shared before the ceremony.

Important Graduation Information for Families

  • Dress code requirements for Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation

    • Students will be in cap and gown for both events.  Please make sure to steam/iron graduation robes before mass and graduation.  Use a low setting on your iron to avoid scorching.  

    • Girls wear white caps and gowns and should choose an appropriate dress or pant suit that is light in color (white, beige, or peach tones) to wear under their graduation gown.  

    • Boys wear green caps and gowns and should wear dress pants, shirt and tie under their gown. 

    • Jeans or sweatpants are not appropriate for this occasion.  

    • Shoes should be appropriate for the occasion.  No flip flops or crocs should be worn.  Caps may not be decorated.

    • Seniors in the National Honor Society will wear their National Honor Society stole.  Students in the National Art Honor Society will wear their National Art Honor Society chords.  No other decorative stole or chords are permitted.

  • Merit-Based Scholarship Information Needed for Commencement Program

    If a senior has received scholarship/merit-based awards from a school or foundation, please send in your award letters to Mrs. Ritt at:  britt@holynamehs.com, or bring a hard copy into school. Please include all awards offered. We are only interested in scholarship and merit awards, not financial aid packages.  The deadline for submission is Friday, May 8, 2026 forscholarships  to be highlighted in the commencement program.

  • Requesting CCP Transcripts from Cuyahoga Community College

    This information is important and pertinent for those students who took College Credit Plus Classes through Cuyahoga Community College. If you need a transcript to send to your next school/program of choice, please go to https://www.tri-c.edu/transcripts/order-transcripts.html and follow the directions provided.

  • Locker Clean Out

    Each senior needs to clean his/her locker out completely by Friday, May 15.  Please be sure to take off anything displayed on the outside of the locker, and also, take the lock home with you.  If you do not want your lock, you may turn it in to the main office. 

  • Uniform Donations

    Seniors are encouraged to donate their HN uniforms to the Parent Association uniform exchange. HN polos, sweaters, khaki pants, pullovers, sweatshirts and skirts are being accepted. Please only donate clothing that is in ‘good shape.’ Uniform donations are being accepted in the Main Office through the end of the school year.

  • PaySchools Central Lunch Account Refunds

    AVI, our cafeteria service provider, will issue refunds to any graduating student who has a balance on their PaySchools cafeteria account of $10.00 or more after the school year ends. If this applies to you, you will receive a check directly from AVI this summer at the address that we have on file. Please note that the cafeteria accounts are managed by AVI directly, not Holy Name High School and Holy Name cannot refund your account.

    Any lunch account balances under $10.00 can be spent in the cafeteria through May 19, 2026. Funds can also be transferred to another active student account (a sibling, for example) or can be donated to Holy Name. If you would like to transfer the account balance or donate your unused funds, please contact Mrs. Blanc at shelbreyblanc@holynamehs.com  or at 440-886-0300 ext. 122 by May 19, 2026.

  • Senior Gmail Accounts Deactivation Date

    Your Holy Name student email account – the entire Google Suite – will be deactivated on August 1, 2026. This means as of that date, you will not be able to access emails, or anything saved in your Google Drive (ex. Google Docs). We highly recommend making sure any important materials are saved/transferred to another Gmail/email account.
