Service & Leadership

At Holy Name, faith is meant to be lived. Through service and leadership opportunities, students are challenged to put their beliefs into action — caring for those in need, leading their peers, and building a community rooted in compassion and responsibility.

Service and leadership experiences help students grow in empathy, courage, and integrity while discovering the joy of making a difference in the lives of others.

Service Rooted in Faith

Service at Holy Name is not simply about fulfilling hours — it is about responding to Christ’s call to love our neighbor. Students are encouraged to recognize the dignity of every person and to serve with humility, generosity, and respect.

Through service projects, outreach initiatives, and partnerships with local organizations, students encounter real needs in our community and learn that even small acts of kindness can have lasting impact.

These experiences help students understand that leadership begins with a willingness to serve.

  • Open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors, the Campus Ministry Leadership Team helps plan and lead retreats, prayer experiences, and faith initiatives throughout the year. Members begin with a Leadership Retreat in early September, where they reflect on how God may be calling them to serve their peers.

This team focuses on spiritual leadership — walking with others on their journey of faith and helping create opportunities for students to encounter Christ.

  • Students may also serve the school community through ministries that support prayer and worship:

    • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
    • Lectors
    • Altar Servers
    • Music Ministry
    • Arts & Environment Ministry
    • Prayer Leaders

Through these roles, students help lead Masses, prayer services, and special liturgies, developing confidence, responsibility, and a deeper love for the Church.

  • Members serve as student pallbearers at funerals throughout Northeast Ohio, offering dignity, compassion, and Christian presence to families experiencing loss. This powerful ministry reflects the corporal works of mercy and the hope of the Resurrection.

  • Inspired by St. Pier Giorgio’s love for the poor, this student-led organization operates a campus food pantry and coordinates charity drives to support those in need. Through hands-on service, students live out the Gospel call to serve Christ in the marginalized.

It all begins with a Name. The Name that grounds our faith, strengthens our work, and shapes our hearts—Jesus.

At Holy Name, Faith is our foundation. Excellence is built through hard work. Community means no one stands alone. Fortitude stands firm in adversity. Being a Namer means bearing His Name proudly— and that makes all the difference.
