Theatre
The Theatre page has this year’s theatre dates, how to take part and the production photos.
How to take part
Two productions during the school year provide opportunities for students to participate in on-stage and off-stage theatre experiences. These include actors who act, sing, and/or dance, crew members who assist with lighting, sound, props, and/or the set, or musicians who perform in the musical pit. All students are welcome to participate for each production as actors through the audition process or as crew members/musicians through a registration process.
Theatre opportunities include Drama Club, Fall Play, and Spring Musical. Students are invited to participate in as many of the theatre program experiences as they are interested, as each area is independent of each other.

How to take part
Students interested in performance classes can enroll with or without performance experience. Courses are available to teach students how to play an instrument or learn to sing. Students interested in learning music content without performing can enroll in general music courses.
Students at Holy Name High School are required to earn one credit in fine arts for graduation. Music courses may be used to satisfy the fine arts requirement as well as additional elective credit requirements.
Each of the performance ensembles provides entertainment to school and community events, represents the school at various contests and festivals, and provides an outlet for student creativity. The primary purpose of the music program is to develop the musical and vocal/instrumental abilities of the participating students within a Catholic environment. Associated with this purpose is the enrichment of the student’s cultural and stylistic awareness through exposure to music of many different cultures and styles.

How to take part
Students who have experience playing flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium, tuba, or percussion are welcome to enroll in this performance class when scheduling classes. Students with less than a year of experience should speak with the director prior to enrolling.
The Green Wave Marching Band is a dedicated performing ensemble which provides entertainment and support at football games and rallies, represents the school at sports and music functions, and also provides an outlet for student creativity. Students from freshmen to seniors perform together in support of the school.
Mandatory rehearsals begin during the summer. Two weeks of Band Camp rehearsals occur in July/August. Pre-season rehearsals are scheduled during August prior to school starting. Regular season rehearsals are after school twice a week. Although the majority of the season is from mid-July to November, performing opportunities later in the year may add rehearsals to the season.
Students in fall sports are welcome to join; arrangements with coaches can be made on an individual basis.
Junior Namers
Seventh and eighth grade students who have a playing ability of 9th grade or higher and are willing to participate fully are able to audition to be junior members of the marching band. Contact the director for information to audition.
Drill Team
Students auditioning for Drill Team are taught simple routines and skills specific to performing with a flag during audition clinics. At auditions students perform the routine and skills for a panel of judges. Students are notified within a week of auditions with results. Those accepted are enrolled in the class.
