MASS AT HOLY NAME

The Source and Summit of Our Faith

At Holy Name High School, the celebration of the Mass — especially the reception of the Eucharist — is the heart of our Catholic identity. The Eucharist, instituted by Christ himself, is the true presence of Jesus: His Body and Blood given for us.

At Mass, we listen to God’s Word proclaimed in Sacred Scripture, offer our prayers as a community, and are strengthened by Christ to live as His disciples in the world. Because the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith, we strongly encourage all students and families to participate in Mass every Sunday at their home parish.

Regular participation in the Mass deepens our relationship with Christ, unites us as members of God’s family, and forms us to live lives of faith, courage, and service.

MASS AT HOLY NAME

  • Holy Name celebrates an All-School Mass at least once each month and on every Holy Day of Obligation that falls during the school year. These liturgies bring our entire community together in prayer and are central to our shared life as a Catholic school.

Students also participate in Mass as part of their retreat experiences, where the sacraments become a powerful moment of encounter with God.

    Weekly Chapel Mass

    Wednesdays at 7:30 AM
Chapel of the Holy Name of Jesus

Students, parents, alumni, and friends of Holy Name are always welcome to join us for Chapel Mass. Beginning the day with the Eucharist is a meaningful way to remain grounded in faith and centered on Christ.

  • All students, regardless of religious background, participate respectfully in Mass as members of our school community.

While only fully initiated Catholics receive the Eucharist, non-Catholic students are invited to come forward during Communion to receive a prayer of God’s blessing.

Sacred Scripture and prayer are gifts shared by all Christians, and the Mass offers inspiration and guidance for anyone seeking to grow in faith, understanding, and purpose.

  • Families may request to have a Mass offered for a deceased loved one. If you would like to schedule a Mass intention, please contact Deacon Mark at mtomecko@holynamehs.com or call (440) 886-0300 x158. While not required, a small donation to the Chapel or Holy Name’s Campus Ministry is appreciated.
