National Honor Society Application Info

Attention all juniors and seniors interested in applying for acceptance into National Honor Society:

The National Honor Society is a prestigious organization, the pillars of which are the following: scholarship, leadership, character, and service. As the second semester has begun, we want to make all junior and senior students and their families aware that the National Honor Society selection process will soon begin. The information here outlines who is eligible to apply for this honor. Please review the criteria carefully before attending the Tuesday, January 27 meeting; it is at this meeting where application packets will be distributed.

Any junior and senior who--after completion of first semester--has earned a minimum

cumulative grade point average of a 3.6 (NHS does not round up from a 3.59), has completed at least one honors, CCP, or AP course, and has demonstrated leadership, strong character, involvement in extracurricular organizations, and service is invited to apply.

Students will not be considered for membership if any of the following apply:

  • They have had to serve an out of school suspension.

  • They have received disciplinary action and met with guidance and/or administration regarding cheating/plagiarism on any course work.

  • They have accrued excessive absences and/or tardiness that have resulted in suspension.

  • They have not completed the minimum 20 hours of service required by HN each school year.

  • They have not previously completed ANY Honors, AP, or CCP courses.

  • They have not achieved the required GPA of a 3.6 or higher by the end of semester one of the 2025-2026 school year.

There will be a mandatory meeting offered on Tuesday January 27, 2026.

Interested students should report to Room 310 by 2:45 pm for important information regarding the application process. Attendance at this fifteen-minute meeting is required in order to be considered for induction. Please see Mrs. White in Room 310 if there is a schedule conflict outside of your control (illness/family emergency).
